My name is Mae and I am a nurse by profession and a calligrapher at heart. Welcome to my little calligraphy corner.
In 2022, during the height of the pandemic, I was searching for something that can bring me a sense of calm (and something to do) amid the chaos and uncertainty (Covid Lockdown). Initially, I was fascinated with beautifully written motivational quotes. So I set myself in a mission to learn how – thus calligraphy! I joined a modern calligraphy workshop and those two hours changed my life! However, I soon learned that calligraphy is more than just writing lovely letters – it requires patience and a lot of practice. Soon enough, I found that doing a little bit of calligraphy everyday helped reduce my anxiety, increased my focus and made me more in tune with my inner self!
I love sharing this newfound joy with my loved ones by making them a card or writing their name or their favourite quote in calligraphy. It has never failed to make them feel happy and inspired. Thus, the birth of Letters From Mae. Now, I can help turn any story, from weddings, birthdays or anniversaries into fairytales.
